Elles éclairent sans doute une sensibilité disposant à l’étude des stéréotypes et discriminations racistes et sexistes. Qu’est-ce qu’un transfuge social ? Yann Le Bihan répond à cette interrogation à partir d’une enquête sur sa propre trajectoire sociale et celles de chercheurs ou écrivains tels que Pierre Bourdieu, Norbert Elias, Rose-Marie Lagrave, Annie Ernaux ou Didier Éribon. Ce livre souligne que les études portant sur les transfuges retiennent trop souvent les parcours linéaires de grande réussite essentiellement scolaire, en insistant sur la souffrance éprouvée dans l’entredeux d’univers sociaux différents. Mais les aléas et accidents de la trajectoire peuvent aussi s’accompagner de gratifications et de joies ressenties lors du déplacement social. Le travail de Yann Le Bihan invite plus largement à une compréhension des conditions de possibilité d’une mobilité sociale ascendante. De leur connaissance dépend l’accomplissement d’une réelle démocratisation, en particulier scolaire. |
