Auf Basis von Interviews stellt Anja Gregor heraus, welche schwerwiegenden Folgen bestimmte medizinische Pathologisierungs- und Zurichtungspraktiken für die Biographien der Betroffenen haben. Sie zeigt: Die soziale Konstruktion von Intergeschlechtlichkeit als zugleich tabuisiertem und medizinisch hochrelevantem Phänomen ist nicht nur auf der medizinisch-praktischen Ebene von Ambivalenzen und Verwerfungen geprägt. Die Studie reflektiert zudem den sozialen Gehalt von Körper und Geschlecht und verweist so auf das gesellschaftstheoretische Potential von Intergeschlechtlichkeit als sozialer Kategorie. |
